Artists from Movement Project perform
Dancers provide summer entertainment at new venue
Mentor’s new Civic Amphitheater welcomed a group of dancers July 12 as part of its summer entertainment lineup during a free performance for the community.
The Movement Project, based out of the Cleveland Tremont neighborhood, presented The Movement Project beginning for dozens of spectators at the city’s amphitheater.
It featured six performances, all intending to fulfill its mission “to challenge perspectives, evoke social change and bridge communities through the power of movement,” the performance’s program reads.
Mentor Community Relations Manager Ante Logarusic said he was pleased to be there with his daughter and thought the event was enriching.
“Those who were here were treated to a delightful, avant-garde performance. I attended with my daughter...” Logarusic writes in a July 13 e-mail exchange. “Being able to kick back on the lawn and watch something like this on a summer evening with her is a memory made.”
The Movement Project was founded in 2009 by Megan Gargano and Rebecca J. Leuszler.
