• Triple-A Columbus belted out 13 hits, including Eric Haase’s 12th home run of the year, in an 8-2 win over host Louisville. Five different Clippers had two or more hits, including Yandy Diaz, who upped his average to .285 with a double and a single. With the win, Columbus improved to 49-43. • Bobby Bradley blasted his 18th home run of the year, and Mark Mathias doubled twice, leading Double-A Akron to a 9-5 win over visiting Binghamton. Binghamton held a 2-0 lead before the RubberDuck­s (55-38) got on the board in the third inning. Aside from Bradley’s homer and Mathias’ doubles, Tyler Krieger singled three times as part of Akron’s 11hit attack. Tristan McKenzie (4-2) got the win, giving up one earned run in 5 2⁄3 innings, lowering his ERA to 2.86. • Dillon Persinger’s single in the top of the ninth inning plated Jodd Carter with the go-ahead run, leading highA Lynchburg to a 6-5 win over host Carolina. The Hillcats (47-46) trailed, 5-4, going into the eighth inning before pulling out the victory. Persinger’s three hits were part of Lynchburg’s 15-hit attack. Billy Strode got the win with two innings of scoreless relief, with James Karinchak picking up his 11th save. • Hosea Nelson hit a tworun, walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the short-season Mahoning Valley Scrappers topped Hudson Valley, 8-6, to snap a four-game losing streak. Nelson had three hits and three RBI for the Scrappers (16-11), who trailed, 6-3, at one point before scoring five unanswered runs.
