3 charged in violent robbery
Three people have been arrested and charged in connection with an armed robbery in Painesville Township.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, two men dressed in all black entered the victim’s bedroom about 4:50 a.m. July 6. One of the men pointed a gun at the victim. The Sheriff’s Office stated the victim believed the trigger was pulled because he heard a click from the gun.
Both of the suspects continued to terrorize the victim. The victim told the Sheriff’s Office that the gun was physically placed on his head and around the same time one of the suspects covered the victims head with a blanket that was taken from his bed. One of the suspects held the blanket over his face and struck him. The gun was then placed to the victim’s ribcage and his wallet was stolen from his pants.
The suspects also stole two more wallets, totaling about $800 on cash, a gold nugget ring, a cellphone and an Apple laptop. The suspects then fled the home.
The Sheriff’s Office was later told of the incident by a victim’s advocate. The office’s detective bureau began an investigation, which resulted in the arrest of three suspects July 8.
Jeffrey Bynes, 41, of Bedford and Manson Bryant, 31, of Painesville were each charged with first-degree felonies of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary kidnapping according to Painesville Municipal Court records.
Lindsey Medina, 31, of Madison Township was charged with two counts of first-degree felony complicity to aggravated robbery,
Detectives were able to recover the gun used by the suspects.
