4 arraigned on drug charges
Four Northeast Ohio residents are due in Mentor Municipal Court, three of whom face multiple felony drug-related charges, following their arrests by Mentor police officers July 10, court records show.
Their arraignment paperwork shows the defendants are:
• Devon M. Brooks, a 34-year-old female resident of 38860 Comanche Trail in Willoughby
• Kelly Jo Flynn, a 48-year-old female resident of 9256 Jordan Drive in Mentor
• Warren J. Hunter, Jr., a 49-year-old male resident of 1234 Lost Nation Road, No. 208, in Willoughby • Michael J. Skinner, a 28-year-old male resident of 730 Callis Drive, No. 1504, in Akron
According to her court file, Brooks is accused of holding 30 grams of methamphetamine, 13.2 grams of cocaine, 20 milligrams of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine, a digital scale, baggies and a cellphone. She’s charged with one second-degree felony count each of aggravated drug possession and aggravated drug trafficking, one third-degree felony count each of cocaine possession and cocaine trafficking and one fifthdegree felony count each of aggravated drug possession and possessing criminal tools.
If convicted on all six counts, Brooks could get up to 24 years behind bars. Her bond was set at $310,000/10 percent cash/surety.
Flynn was charged with third-degree felony tampering with evidence, fifth-degree felony heroin possession and one firstdegree misdemeanor count each of suboxone possession, possessing gabapentin and falsification.
If convicted of the three felony counts alone, Flynn faces up to five years behind bars. She was issued a $70,000/10 percent cash/surety bond.
Hunter was charged with first-degree misdemeanor falsification, for which he could receive up to six months’ confinement.
Skinner is accused of possessing 4.7 grams of methamphetamine and vandalizing a jail telephone, along with providing false information. He’s charged with third-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs, fifth-degree felony vandalism and firstdegree misdemeanor falsification.
If convicted of the two felonies alone, Skinner could get up to four years behind bars. His bond was set at $55,000/10 percent cash/surety.
All four codefendants are due back in court for pretrials/preliminary hearings on July 19.
