Events on tap this weekend in Willoughby
Willoughby is the place to be this weekend, with the ArtsFest on downtown streets July 21 and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church’s Oktoberfest July 20 through 22.
Parking may be an issue, so make your plans early and plan to walk.
Streets will be closed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the ArtsFest, a juried art show with 130 vendors having jewelry, photography, paintings and textiles all along Erie Street and around shady Wes Point Park. There will be a wine tent and an auction tent with items donated by various artists. The gazebo will be headquarters for a variety of musical performances, and street musicians will perform throughout the event.
The 39th Oktoberfest, an annual event at Immaculate Conception, 37932 Euclid Ave., runs from 5 to 11 p.m. July 20, 4 to 11:30 p.m. July 21 and noon to 5 p.m. July 22. Pittsburgh Market Tour
It’s always a sell-out when Loretta Paganini, chef and leader of the Loretta Paganini School of Cooking in Chester Township, escorts her annual Pittsburgh Market Tour, a daylong trip from Chester filled with food, shopping and fun. See last year’s story at bit.ly/pitt-trip-2017.
This year, it’s on Aug. 18, and signups have begun.
The visit, which includes tastings and lunch, focuses on the gastronomic heart of the city, the Strip District, its wholesale, retail and ethnic food center.
Those who come along should wear good walking shoes and bring a small cooler for keeping perishable shopping finds. Travel is by air-conditioned motorcoach, which leaves the school promptly at 8 a.m. and returns at 6 p.m. Registration is $95 at 440-729-1110 or lpscinc.com.
Dog Days of Summer
The Dog Days of Summer special at Molinari’s, 8900 Mentor Ave., Mentor, is a great way to cool off while eating well.
It’s $50 per couple and available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Couples get choices between two salads, a brown sugar-cured half chicken or half slab of baby back ribs. plus steak frites and a bottle of house wine.

Yoga and brunch
Willoughby businesses Sol, a restaurant, and Harmony Studios, which offers yoga instruction, collaborate on a yoga brunch from 9 to 11 a.m. July 21 at Sol, 38257 Glenn Ave.
Yoga against a backdrop of live cello music will be done outdoors on the patio, unless it’s raining, followed by a healthy yoga buffet.
It’s $35, and discounted mimosas and bloody Marys will be $5.
