Our Treasures has a new home in Painesville.

The shop, owned by husband and wife Steve and Cindy Quick, recently moved from 216 E. Main St. to a historic home at 50 W. Erie St.

“The way I look at it is, we’re on Historic Route 20, we’re near two bedand-breakfasts and we have the foot traffic from area businesses,” Cindy said. “It’s a perfect location.”

The home was built in 1885 and is a little over 5,000 square feet, Steve added.

Although there is a second floor, the couple is only occupying the main floor of the new shop, which is about 2,500 square feet.

Meanwhile, their previous business was only a total of 1,500 square feet, he added.

Cindy said they just outgrew their former shop.

The additional space allows for more inventory and consignors. Cindy and Steve is also able rent spaces to sellers.

“We are more selective when choosing consignors,” Steve said. “We are looking for vintage, primitive, handmade — just good quality items. No reproductions.”

Another new feature is a meeting room space that the public can rent for small events.

“We’re actually renting it at $35 per hour or four hours for $125,” she said.

The days and hours to rent the room are flexible.

“When people ask ‘what are you,’ I say we’re an antique shop, a gift shop and a gallery, because you can find art in here, you can find antiques and gifts,” she said

Steve and Cindy are pleased with the foot traffic and community response.

“We re-opened (July 12) and just in four days, there were 96 people,” she said, “Foot traffic has just been great.”

The hours of operation also slightly changed.

“We used to be closed on Sundays, but we had a really good response Sunday, so we’re going to try Sundays from 11 (a.m.) to 2 p.m. If the foot traffic is a little slow, we might change it to the first and third Sunday of the month.”

Looking ahead, the couple has many ambitious plans. There is a large front porch that they plan to use for events such as outdoor sales like the Porch Pop-up, they recently hosted.

“Eventually we want the whole house to be filled
