John “Pat” Pernus

John “Pat” Pernus, 77, a longtime ConJuly cord Twp. resident, passed away 22, 2018, at Hospice House in CleveCleve­37 land. He was born March 17, 1941 in land. Pat worked at Lincoln Electric for years, retiring as a Master Scheduler for all the automatic and semiautoma­tic welding machines. Known as the local “tax man,” Pat was the founder and ownhe er of Confidenti­al Tax Service, where provided personaliz­ed tax preparatio­n services for many friends and family members for 35 years.

He was inducted into the Eastlake North High School AthUniverw­as letics Hall of Fame and he attended The Ohio State sity, where he played football under Woody Hayes. Pat a former football, basketball, baseball, and softball coach for his children, as well as a Scout Master. He was an active member of the American Slovenian Club in Fairport Harbor and the Knights of Columbus. Pat was a proud Papa and the biggest fan of his four children and nine grandchild­ren in both sports and life. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Buckeyes, Cavaliers, Indians, and even the Browns.

Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Sharon (Krnjeu) Pernus; children, Doug (Sue), Greg (Amy), Kimm (Neil) Leininger, and Russell; grandchild­ren, Jarrett, Nolan, Brady, Cooper, Dustyn, Brendan, Darby, Raegann, and Amara; aunt, Olga Loewe; and his step brother, Jack “Bill” (Joanne) Nagel. He is also survived by many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Franuncle, ces Pernus; infant sister, Arlene; aunt, Millie Pernus; Ernie Loewe; his step-mother, Margaret Pernus; and many other family members.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.

A funeral mass in memory of Pat will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Rd., Concord Twp., OH 44060. Inurnment will be held at All Souls Cemetery.
