Pinch hitter Eric Haase hit a solo home run in the ninth inning, and visiting Triple-A Columbus (6155) topped Durham, 5-4. Starter Ryan Merritt gave up four runs, including two home runs, and struck out four for Columbus.

Visiting Reading held Double-A Akron (66-50) to six singles in a 2-0 shutout. The RubberDucks were 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position and left eight on base.

Short-season Single-A Mahoning Valley (31-20) beat Williamsport, 4-1, behind a two-run home run from third baseman Henry Pujols.
