Meeting critical needs in Lake County

-

A change in funding has occurred and 132 Elementary School students in Painesville were in danger of losing a weekend food backpack program. Catholic Charities Food Force program was called upon and we are proud to have the opportunity to meet this need in partnership with our community supporters.

The food backpack program provides a weekends supply of food for a student living in a family that struggles with having enough food resources. At Catholic Charities, our Food Force program has helped assist families that have a food shortage with a variety of groceries each month. Food Force has been operating since 1978 and we plan to serve these 132 students with the help of our community supporters.

Our thanks goes out to an organization call 100 Women who Care. They have come to our aid by making a substantial donation of $8,025 to help in funding this initiative. This group responds rapidly in our community by selecting and funding special projects aimed at meeting emerging or growing unmet needs in Lake County. It is because of the generosity of 100 Women Who Care that Catholic charities Food Force program is able to say yes to this request for help.

Catholic Charities is proud to be able to partner with 100 Women Who Care in addressing this critical unmet need in Lake County.

If you are interested in joining our efforts and would like to make a donation to the Food Force program at Catholic charities, please send your donation to Catholic Charities Corporation, 8 North State Street, Painesville, OH 44077 James R.
