The city of Willowick is holding it’s second annual Rib Burn Off to benefit the city’s youth recreational leagues.

The event will be held Aug. 24-26 at Dudley Park, 31500 Willowick Drive.

This year’s Rib Burn Off will feature more local restaurants and kid-friendly activities, according to Mayor Rich Regovich who is hoping to see more children at the event.

“I like the idea of families bringing the kids out, and both kids and parent can have a good time,” Regovich said.

Activities for youths include inflatables, a kid zone with table games such as Connect Four, bowling and corn hole games, according to Willowick Parks and Recreation Director Julie Kless.

In addition to the five rib vendors who are participating in the burn off, there will be other vendors with more kid-friendly food such as hamburgers, hotdogs, sweet corn, gyros, ice cream, and funnel cakes.

There will also be soda and drink vendors.

DJ music by Absolutely Unbelievable will be played all day Aug. 25-26 up until the bands go on stage.

The event kicks off on Aug. 24, from 5 to 10 p.m., with Sumrada taking the stage from 6 to 10 p.m.

On Aug. 25, the Burn Off is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., for food, games, entertainment and music. Jester’s Revenge performs from 6 to 10 p.m.

The final day of the event, Aug. 26, activities go from noon to 8 p.m.
