Wide receiver Dez Bryant was in Berea on Aug. 17 to meet with Browns coaches and general manager John Dorsey — his first visit to an NFL team since training camps around the league opened last month.

Bryant has been unemployed since the Cowboys released him in April after eight years in Dallas.

Bryant stopped by the “Cleveland Browns Daily” studio on the second floor of team headquarters in Berea and sounded upbeat about possibly signing with the team and joining his good friend, fellow wide receiver Jarvis Landry.

“I’m happy to be here, you know, excited,” Bryant told host Nathan Zegura while being on air for less than two minutes. “Just trying to work out some things.”

Bryant played college football at Oklahoma State. When Zegura told Bryant he looked good in an orange uniform, Bryant agreed and added, “Yeah, I did. I’d still look good in brown. We’ll see.”

Kim Miale, Bryant’s agent, is with the 29-yearold receiver. It is unknown whether Bryant has other visits scheduled. There was no announcement of a contract signing on Aug. 17.

Bryant has said he wants to play for a contender, but teams are not burning the phone lines trying to add Bryant to their rosters, as Bryant might have assumed would happen.

New England, San Francisco, New Orleans, Houston and Arizona were rumored landing spots for Bryant in the week before teams reported to camps.

“You have open and very candid conversations about what your locker room is, how your team is run, how we go about doing things and see if it fits,” Coach Hue Jackson said on Aug. 14, when answering a question anticipating Bryant’s visit. “The player has to be honest, and we have to be honest with what our expectations are. You just lay it out. That’s the only way that you can do it at this time.”

Bryant caught 531 passes for 7,459 yards and 73 touchdowns while playing for the Cowboys from 2010-17.
