Spaghetti dinner: King of Kings Lutheran Church in Willoughby hosts it monthly spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 21. Supper will be served at 6 p.m. at the church, 2815 Lost Nation Road, Willoughby. For information, call 440-339-9110.
Gospel quartet: The gospel quartet Common Bond from Winchester, Kentucky, will be performing at the
10:30 a.m. service Aug. 19 at Mentor Plains United Methodist Church, 7271 Lake Shore Blvd. Mentor. All are welcome. A free will offering will be taken during the service.
In concert: Ryan Stevenson will appear in concert on Aug. 19 at New Promise Church, 8671 Euclid-Chardon Road, Kirtland. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and music will follow at 7. Stevenson’s 2017 GMA Song of the Year was “Eye of the Storm.” His other top billboard singles include “No Matter What” and “The Gospel.” General admission tickets are $15 and VIP tickets are $25 and are available online at iTickets.com. Gather at Willoughby United Methodist Church on Aug. 26 to celebrate together the beginning of a new school year. All students, teachers and educators are invited to bring their backpacks, briefcases and workbags to ask God’s blessing on the new school year ahead. Community prayer vigil: A 24-hour community prayer vigil will be conducted at Advent Lutheran Church, 7985 Munson Road, Mentor, on Sept. 7-8. The prayer vigil will begin at 6 p.m., Sept. 7 and end at 6 p.m. Sept. 8. A service of healing
will be conducted at 6 p.m. All are welcome. This is a community event. This year’s prayer theme is “healing” — healing for the world at large, healing for our divided nation, healing for victims of religious and social discrimination, healing for our environment, healing for broken relationships, healing for those suffering from physical ailments and healing those suffering from addiction and mental health issues. Consider coming to pray for an hour or so. Refreshments and prayer-materials will be provided. Support for life’s challenges: It is as simple as stopping in and posting your needs on one of the Willoughby House of Prayer prayer boards or on the outside board. Volunteers will then pray over the request each day. The mission is to share the peace and serenity of God’s providential care. The Willoughby House of Prayer, 4091 Erie St., Willoughby, is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays and Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays.

Jubilee celebration: St. Cyprian’s Church in Perry is celebrating the church’s 50th Jubilee this year. The search is on for founding families who attended in 1968, to honor with a special dinner. Any historical photographs, old stories or other memorabilia that parishioners would like to share with the Jubilee Committee would be appreciated. Bible classes: Want to take Bible school classes without moving away? You can attend Abundant Life Bible Training Center from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturdays beginning in September. The course will use the AFCMITC DVD Bible school course in order to grow faith and knowledge of God and the Bible.
