Oklahoma authorities confirmed the afternoon of Sept. 6 that two Elyria homicide suspects are in custody following a high-speed chase.

John Bridges, major of operations for the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office, said the men were hospitalized following a crash just west of Oklahoma City near Interstate 40.

“There was a pursuit with a vehicle that matched the description,” Bridges said. “And the pursuit was initiated by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.”

Bridges added the suspects were located in the area by tracking their cellphone signal.

One suspect was evaluated and released from hospital and transported to Canadian County Jail. The second remains in critical condition.

On Sept. 5, the Elyria Police Department issued a statement seeking Phillip Hohn-Tucker, 21, and Joshua Phillip Alexander Hohn, 19, in connection with the homicide in the early morning hours.

Police issued two arrest warrants for the suspects in connection to the death of Barry Allen Spreng Jr., 38, of Oberlin.

Police charged Hohn with murder and Hohn-Tucker with conspiracy to commit robbery, according to an Elyria police news release.

The pair were traveling in a gray 2007 Hyundai Sonata sedan, with Ohio license plate GEH 4810, which was registered to Spreng, the release said.

Police also are seeking information on the whereabouts of Gloria Louise Watton, 18, a “person of interest” who may have been traveling with Hohn-Tucker and Hohn.

Anyone with information should call Elyria police at 440-322-3302.

At 2:21 a.m., Sept. 5, officers responded to Windsor Elementary School, 264 Windsor Drive, Elyria, for a report of a person who was passed out in the school parking lot, according to an Elyria police report.

Officers found Spreng lying in the parking lot on the northwest side of the school.

Spreng had been stabbed multiple times and was pronounced dead after the arrival of emergency medical services, according to police.

Elyria police detectives arrived shortly after the patrol and identified Spreng.

Detectives then obtained the arrest warrants.

Hohn-Tucker’s last known address was 410 Stafford St. in Elyria. Hohn’s last known address was 822 Flora St., Prescott, Arizona; while Watton’s last known address was 14825 N. Deer View Trail, Prescott, Arizona.
