Tony Fisher Award watch list

This year’s award will be handed out Nov. 26, as part of a special edition of the Varsity Chalk Talk Show at Hooley House in Mentor, with Bill Tilton hosting. We will publish a weekly watch list for the top players in the area every week from now until the night of the show. This list is fluid and can change week to week. This week’s list, in alphabetic­al order:

• Jacob Allen, Perry, Sr.: Had five catches for 110 yards, ran for 38 yards and had 10 tackles on defense in a 21-7 win over Chagrin Falls. For the season, he has run for 151 yards, caught 16 passes for 287 yards and has scored four touchdowns.

• C.J. Charleston, Gilmour, Sr.: Carried 18 times for 234 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Valley Christian. For the season, he has run for 827 yards and 17 touchdowns.

• Nick Demchuk, Benedictin­e, Sr.: Completed 22 of 40 passes for 362 yards and four touchdowns in the Bengals’ 66-39 loss to Erie Cathedral Prep. For the season, he has thrown for 1,210 yards and 15 touchdowns.

• Alex Dragas, Madison, Jr.: Completed 8 of 22 passes for 82 yards, and also ran for 148 yards and two touchdowns, in the Blue Streaks’ 42-21 loss to South. For the season, he has thrown for 682 yards and seven touchdowns.

• Nick Gattozzi, NDCL, Sr.: Completed 2 of 4 passes for 20 yards in the Lions’ 65-12 win over Cleveland Central Catholic. For the season, He has run for 199 yards and two touchdowns and has thrown for 604 yards

and eight touchdowns.

• Ian Kipp, Mentor, So.: Completed 9 of 14 passes for 121 yards and three touchdowns in the Cardinals’ 45-20 win over Strongsvil­le. For the season, he has thrown for 516 yards and seven touchdowns, and also run for 305 yards and six touchdowns.

• Jake Neibecker, Kirtland, Sr.: Carried five times for 54 yards in the Hornets’ 58-6 win over Cardinal. For the season, he has run for 387 yards with eight touchdowns.

• Isaac Pettway, Wickliffe, Sr.: Carried 15 times for 118 yards and a touchdown, and also scored on a 79-yard kickoff return, in the Blue Devils’ 40-6 win over Independen­ce. For the season, he has run for 482 yards and has scored nine touchdowns.

• Jack Porter, Kenston, Jr.: Carried 18 times for 108 yards

and a touchdown in the Bombers’ 53-20 win over North. For the season, he has run for 473 yards and has scored eight touchdowns.

• Nate Rieple, Lake Catholic, Sr.: Ran for 59 yards and caught a 58-yard touchdown pass in the Cougars’ 27-24 loss to Cleveland Heights. For the season he has run for 166 yards, caught six passes for 158 yards, scored six touchdowns and has 47 tackles on defense.

• Drew Schiano, Perry, So.: Completed 19 of 31 passes for 254 yards and a touchdown in a 21-7 win over Chagrin Falls. For the season, he has thrown for 1,056 yards and 10 touchdowns.

• Rico Small, South, Sr.: Caught five passes for 100 yards and three touchdowns in the Rebels’ 42-21 win over Madison. For the season, he has caught 342 yards of passes and scored seven touchdowns.

• Jon Tomcufcik, Kenston, Jr.: Completed 9 of 20 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns, and also ran for a touchdown, in the Bombers’ 53-20 win over North. For the season, he has thrown for 830 yards and seven touchdowns, while also running for three scores.

• Joey Torok, Kirtland, Sr.: Carried three times for 81 yards and a touchdown, and also had a 57-yard touchdown reception, in the Hornets’ 58-6 win over Cardinal. For the season, he has run for 419 yards and has scored eight touchdowns.

• Brian Trobel, Mentor, Jr.: Carried 18 times for 219 yards and two touchdowns in the Cardinals’ 45-20 win over Strongsvil­le. For the season, he has run for 621 yards and has scored 10 touchdowns.
