Time to ‘Think Pink’ this month at Great Lakes Mall

Great Lakes Mall in Mentor has launched Think Pink: 31 Days of Awareness during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A pink hue will shine through the mall for the entire month of October, during which shoppers are invited to participat­e in a variety of events.

“Great Lakes Mall is proud to collaborat­e with Lake Health on such an important cause,” said Kate Miller, marketing director at Great Lakes Mall. “We invite the community to join in one (or all) of these entertaini­ng events which will benefit local breast health initiative­s.”

Throughout the Days of Awareness, Great Lakes Mall shoppers will be drawn to the pink décor throughout the property as well as the Message of Strength boards which will allow survivors, friends and loved ones to post what is in their heart. Guests will enjoy a variety of events throughout the month of October with funds raised benefittin­g Lake Health Breast Health Programs.

Fundraisin­g events include the Think Pink Fitness Series taking place every Sunday morning in October from 10am-11am and Board Art workshops hosted by the new Busy Bees Pottery & Arts Studio. In addition, Great Lakes Mall will host Think Pink: Ladies Night Out on Oct. 18 from 6-7:30 p.m. Ladies Night Out is free to attend and will feature refreshmen­ts, entertainm­ent, door prizes and more. Comfort 54, Mentor Fire Department’s new Cancer Awareness Engine will also make an appearance at the main entrance of Great Lakes Mall on Oct. 20 from noon – 4 p.m. for the community to sign.
