Tony Fisher award watch list

This year’s award will be handed out Nov. 19, as part of a special edition of the Varsity Chalk Talk Show at Hooley House in Mentor, with Bill Tilton hosting. We will publish a weekly watch list for the top players in the area every week from now until the night of the show. This list is fluid and can change week to week. This week’s list, in alphabetic­al order:

• Jacob Allen, Perry, Sr.:

Carried seven times for 74 yards, had two catches for 31 yards and had eight tackles on defense in the Pirates’ 49-7 win over Orange. For the season, he has run for 281 yards, caught 24 passes for 559 yards and has scored 13 touchdowns. Defensivel­y, he has 54 tackles.

• C.J. Charleston, Gilmour, Sr.:

Ran for 143 yards and two touchdowns in the Lancers’ 14-3 win over Warren JFK. For the season, he has run for 1,680 yards and 32 touchdowns, with a pair of two-point conversion­s.

• Nick Demchuk, Benedictin­e, Sr.:

Completed 19 of 36 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns in the Bengals’ 35-17 loss to Lake Catholic. For the season, he has thrown for 1,903 yards and 21 touchdowns.

• Nick Gattozzi, NDCL, Sr.:

Carried seven times for 126 yards and four touchdowns, and also completed six of six passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns in the Lions’ 53-3 win over Walsh Jesuit. For the season, he has run for 619 yards and seven touchdowns, and has thrown for 1,117 yards and 13 touchdowns.

• Ian Kipp, Mentor, So.:

Was injured and did not play in the Cardinals’ 29-28 loss to Solon. For the season, he has thrown for 882 yards and eight touchdowns, and also run run for 334 yards and seven touchdowns.

• Jon McKnight, Chardon, Sr.:

Ran for 146 yards, caught a 58-yard pass, and accounted for 224 yards and five touchdowns in the Hilltopper­s’ 42-12 win over Brush. For the season, he has run for 817 yards, caught 327 yards of passes and thrown a touchdown pass. He has 306 return yards and 1,487 all-purpose yards with 15 touchdowns, as well as 50 tackles on defense.

• Jake Neibecker, Kirtland, Sr.:

Carried nine times for 74 yards and two touchdowns in the Hornets’ 43-6 win over Berkshire. For the season, he has run for 528 yards with 10 touchdowns.

• Isaac Pettway, Wickliffe, Sr.:

Carried eight times for 131 yards and two touchdowns in the Blue Devils’ 46-14 win over Fairport. For the season, he has run for 1,123 yards and has scored 20 touchdowns.

• Jack Porter, Kenston, Jr.:

Carried 41 times for 290 yards and three touchdowns in the Bombers’ 28-6 win over Madison. For the season, he has run for 1,308 yards and has scored 17 touchdowns.

• Drew Schiano, Perry, So.:

Completed 10 of 14 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns in the Pirates’ 49-7 win over Orange. For the season, he has thrown for 1,887 yards and 21 touchdowns, and also run for 239 yards and a score.

• Jon Tomcufcik, Kenston, Jr.:

Completed seven of 13 passes for 119 yards, and also ran for a touchdown, in the Bombers’ 28-6 win over Madison. For the season, he has thrown for 1,675 yards and 15 touchdowns, while also running for seven scores.

• Joey Torok, Kirtland, Sr.:

Carried 12 times for 204 yards and three touchdowns in the Hornets’ 43-6 win over Berkshire. For the season, he has run for 979 yards and has scored 19 touchdowns.

• Brian Trobel, Mentor, Jr.:

Carried 35 times for 209 yards and two touchdowns in the Cardinals’ 29-28 loss to Solon. For the season, he has run for 1,264 yards, scored 23 touchdowns and caught 11 passes for 96 yards.
