Mary E. Parks, 91, of Painesvill­e Twp., passed away October 10, 2018, at Hospice House in Cleveland.

She was born February 13, 1927 in Union City, Tennessee.

Mrs. Parks was a homemaker. She loved cooking, and was known for her great gravy, deviled eggs, and her chicken salad. She also loved baking apple pies and chocolate chip cookies. Feeding anyone and everyone was a passion of Mary’s and she worked hard for anyone and everyone by doing anything for them. She was a great mother, grandmothe­r, and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary worked at Fisher Body Coach in Michigan in the late 1940’s, where she met her husband, Robert. She lived in Michigan the first half of her life and then moved to Ohio.

Hobbies of hers included playing Euchre with her neighbors, attending swim classes at Mentor Heisley Racquet Club, and having her children’s friends over and interactin­g with them.

Survivors are her children, Colleen Parks, Robert (Annette) Parks, and Bonnie (John) George; grandchild­ren, Steve (Amy) Yates, Michael (Angela) Yates, Courtney (Phillip) Zannella, Leigh (Paul) Johnson, and Alanna Burke; and nine loving great-grandchild­ren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Eula and Henry Smith; step-father, Floyd Tatu; sisters, Doris Crisman and Betty Auten; and her brother, Johnny Tatu.

A celebratio­n of Mary’s life will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2018, at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. A prayer service to conclude the celebratio­n will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
