Frances Matish (nee Mezgec)

Frances Matish (nee Mezgec), age 97, of Euclid, formerly of Collinwood, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland.

She was born December 18, 1920 in Adrian, WV., the daughter of the late Frank and Maria Demsar Mezgec.

Frances was a utility worker at General Electric, Nela Park for 30 years.

She is survived by her son, Phillip A. (Brenda, nee Ola); grandchildren, Phillip A., II (Kathy, nee Tritt), and Alison J. (John) Tripodis; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Andrew, and Maria; and brother, Frank Mezgec.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Matish; daughter, Norma L. (Frank) Nelson; sisters, Olga Matish and Pauline Cook; and half-siblings, Franciska Usenicnik, Michael Selyak, Albina Separovic, and Mirko Selyak.

Visitation is Thursday, October 18, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd., Chester Twp. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 19, 2018, at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home. Rev. Martin Polito will officiate. Burial at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp.
