Deepwood Foundation hosting annual fundraiser

- Submitted

The Deepwood Foundation is hosting its annual fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. Nov. 2 at LaMalfa in Mentor.

The evening includes magicians, fortune tellers, a caricature artist and a performance from the locally infamous Deepwood Dancers.

Included in the $75 ticket price is a large dinner buffet with sushi, salmon, carving and pasta stations, as well as an open bar.

The evening will also have a wealth of silent auction baskets and concludes with a live auction.

This is the largest annual Deepwood Foundation event and typically hosts 250 guests. The Foundation has its sights set high, hoping to raise $75,000 throughout the evening which would be a record high for this event.

“We are very fortunate to have such generous local businesses and donors,” said Tana Habat, interim director of the Deepwood Foundation. “I think one of the most exciting items of the night will be an autographed Mitch Trubisky football. The community is very tight knit and I think there will be a lot of interest in this item.”

The live auction will include a trip to Napa Valley and a trip to Orlando (with park passes to Disney World).

Last year, the Deepwood Foundation was able to raise more than $60,000 which went back to support individuals in Lake County with developmental disabilities. Through fundraisers and donations, the Foundation is able to provide grants for summer camp scholarships, music therapy, adaptive equipment, respite care, adaptive yoga, classroom supplies, orthopedic shoes and so much more.

To purchase tickets, contact the Deepwood Foundation office at 440-3505233 or email tana.habat@lakebdd.org. Tickets can also be purchased through Eventbrite. Tickets must be acquired prior to the event; no tickets will be available for purchase at the event.
