Free Thanksgiving Dinner: The Church of Saint Anselm, 12969 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township, will hold a free Thanksgiving Dinner from noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 22 at the church’s Kelly Hall. The menu will include roast turkey, stuffing mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, vegetables, salad, homemade apple sauce, desserts and beverages. All are welcome. Healing Mass: The community is invited to join St. Peter’s Shadow for Mass and a night of healing prayer at St. Gabriel Parish, 9935 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Concord, at 6 p.m. Nov. 13 at Fr. Jacob Bearer will celebrate this healing Mass that focuses on Jesus’ healing power. All are welcome to experience this therapeutic event!
Retreat offered: The community is invited to join a Poustinia Retreat hosted by St. Gabriel Parish at the Bethany Retreat Center at 13000 Auburn Road, Chardon. The retreat will be Nov. 30 to Dec. 1 with private room accommodations. Fr. Jeremy Merzweiler will be present. Please register by Nov. 27. Registration fee is $75. Surviving the Holidays: Surviving the Holidays seminar will be Nov. 17 at Painesville Church of the Brethren, 10410 Buckeye Road, Painesville. The free seminar, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will help participants discover hoe to deal with emotions, what do about traditions, offer tips for surviving social events and how to find hope for the future. Yoga offered: Yoga is offered at Chardon United Methodist Church Wednesdays from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A gentle, progressive style of yoga suitable for all ages and body types will be offered. On the floor, or on a chair, this class includes Asana (postures), Pranayama (breath practices), and relaxation. No experience is needed. The class is Conducted by master teacher and instructor Susan Gundersen. This is a donation class (suggested donation $10) with proceeds going toward the church’s Guatemala mission. The annual Holly House Craft Show will be held at Shoregate United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 1. The show is looking for crafters. Reiki therapy offered: Mentor Presbyterian Church, 5885 Hopkins Road, Mentor, will offer free Reiki Therapy at 2 p.m. the third Sunday of each month in the newly renovated healing center. Jubilee celebration: St. Cyprian’s Church in Perry is celebrating the church’s 50th Jubilee this year. The search is on for founding families who attended in 1968, to honor with a special dinner. Any historical photographs, old stories or other memorabilia that parishioners would like to share with the Jubilee Committee would be appreciated.
