Charles H. Ficke, 87, of Middlefiel­d, passed away November 16, 2018 at Cleveland Clinic Euclid Hospital. He was born August 22, 1931 in Bronx, New York.

Chuck was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked at and retired from the Perry Nuclear Power Plant. He was too restless and went to work at WalMart in Chardon only to retire again. In his spare time, he loved to travel, play golf, and he also enjoyed being creative while doing carpentry and electrical work. Every Christmas he helped his wife set up the Christmas Village consisting of over 200 houses in their home. Whenever possible, he could be found at Chuck’s Pub with a glass of Jack Daniels watching the New York Yankees.

Survivors are his wife of 63 years, Betty; daughters, Jennifer (Bruce) Worful, Jeanine (Steve) Jones, and Jerilyn (Michael) Epperson; grandchild­ren, Brian (Jamie) Eckliff, Matt (Vanessa) Eckliff, Stefanie (Tom) Laurenzi, Steven (Chelsea) Jones, Caitlen and Cailey Epperson, and Jared Worful (Matt) and seven great-grandchild­ren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Alice Ficke; brother, Robert Ficke; son, Jeff Ficke; and his granddaugh­ter, Shannon Eckliff.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, Ohio 44060. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chesterlan­d.
