Bob Jones University recently named Lydia Pfeifle of Mentor to the 2018 Chorale, a 50-voice choir comprised of undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of degree programs.
Pfeifle is a junior majoring in Communication.
“The BJU Chorale is widely known for its tonal beauty and dramatic expressivity,” said Dr. Warren Cook, who has served as director for over 30 years.
“This year, we hope to continue a long tradition of delighting audiences with excellence in choral art.”
The BJU Chorale debuted in Chicago Orchestra Hall when they performed composer Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo. In addition, the Chorale has served as the U.S. representative at the World Choral Festival in Seoul, Korea, and has been a featured performing choir at American Choral Directors Association and National Association for Music Education events.
The Chorale tours regularly and maintains a full performing schedule of concerts, oratorio and theater productions, as well as providing music for campus services and events.
This fall, the Chorale has presented multiple concerts including, Dan Forrest’s Requiem for the Living.
BJU offers over 100 undergraduate and graduate programs in religion, education, fine arts and communication, arts and science, health sciences, and business.
