All City Candy collecting donations for children’s hospital

All City Candy in Mentor and Richmond Heights is collecting candy donations to help fill “Santa Sacks” for patients at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland.

Customers may purchase a candy item of their choice to place in the sacks, which All City Candy will deliver to Rainbow on Christmas Day.

“We always like to find ways to give back to the community,” said business President Elisabeth Sapell. “We have been partnering with Rainbow for several years now; we fill baskets for Easter and now we’re filling Santa Sacks for the fourth time for Christmas.

“There are so many children being cared for at Rainbow over the holidays. These children and their families are going through a difficult time and we want to give them a little something to help spread some cheer.”

All City Candy will be collecting donations at both stores through Christmas Eve. Monetary donations are also accepted.

In addition, All City Candy will be hosting Breakfast with Santa at both locations from 10 to 11 a.m., Dec. 16.

Santa will mingle with guests during a buffet-style breakfast and each child will receive a special treat. Free photos with Santa will be available following the breakfast.

Reservations are required for both children and adults. Cost is $15 per person (children under 2 are free). Reservations can be made at AllCityCandy.com/products/ breakfast or by calling the stores.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m, Mondays through Saturdays, and noon to 5 p.m., Sundays. All City Candy is located at 7441 Mentor Ave. in Mentor, and 746 Richmond Road in Richmond Heights.

The business opened in Mentor in 2017 in the former Party Place site east of Route 306. The store features an open kitchen production area, where customers can view the creation of All City Candy’s confections. It also offers 800 types of bulk candy in self-serve bins, nostalgic candies, 70-plus bulk Jelly Belly jelly bean flavors, more than 20 different colors of M&M’s, and fine chocolates and fresh fudge.
