All-Ohio teams unveiled for Divisions IV and V

It’s state championsh­ip week, and it begins with the release of this year’s All-Ohio teams, honoring the best players in Ohio. See which players from the area made it in Divisions IV and V.

C.J. Charleston, the decorated senior running back from Gilmour, has been named the Division V offensive player of the year in a voting done by the Ohio Prep Sports Writers Associatio­n.

Charleston was named the offensive player of the year after first being named first team All-Ohio.

Charleston carried 198 times for 2,585 yards (a 13.1-yard average) and scored 51 touchdowns this year. He also scored a trio of two-point conversion­s for a grand total of 312 points.

Gilmour went 11-1 this year, won the NCL White Division title and advanced to the second round of the Division V playoffs.

Earning second-team All-Ohio honors in Division V were Wickliffe running back Isaac Pettway, Gilmour offensive lineman Armand DiPuccio, Gilmour defensive end Michael Cerer, Gilmour linebacker Jack Kosar and Gilmour defensive back Jack Krebs.

Earning third-team AllOhio in Division V were Beachwood offensive ilneman Kyle Oliver, Wickliffe defensive lineman Doug Byrne, Beachwood linebacker Dawaan Gray and Wickliffe linebacker Chase Fortkamp.

Perry led the area in the Division IV polling for AllOhio honors.

Earning first team honors were linebacker Cameron Rogers and defensive back Jake Reid.

Second-team All-Ohioans are quarterbac­k Drew Schiano, offensive lineman Bryce Cooper and kicker Sampson Agostine on offense, as well as defensive back Spencer Kane.

Raking in third-team honors are offensive lineman Zach Early and defensive lineman Matthew Sullivan.

Chagrin Falls’ Henry Woofter also earned thirdteam recognitio­n.

Division II and Division III All-Ohio will be announced the afternoon of Nov. 27.
