Auditor announced dog licenses now on sale
Three-year or permanent licenses are available for dogs in addition to the traditional one-year license.
Lake County Auditor Edward H. Zupancic announced that dog licenses for 2019 have gone on sale.
Three-year or permanent licenses are available for dogs in addition to the traditional one-year license.
The registration fee for the one-year license is $20; the three-year license is $60; and the permanent license is $200, according to a news release.
All dogs who have reached 3 months of age must be licensed, the release stated.
As a convenience to the public, one-year, threeyear and permanent dog licenses may be purchased online at www.doglicenses. us/OH/Lake. Online purchases require an additional fee of $2.50, $4.50 and $11.75 per license, respectively.
All dogs who have reached 3 months of age must be licensed, the release stated.
For in-person purchases, licenses are always available without a handling fee during regular operating hours at the Auditor’s Office and the Dog Shelter.
As in the past, one-year licenses can be purchased at a cost of $20.75 each at any of the agent sites throughout Lake County.
The three-year license and the permanent license can only be purchased in the Auditor’s Office and at the Dog Shelter between Dec. 1 and Jan. 31. Owners should be aware that these longer-term licenses are not refundable in the event of the death of the animal or if the dog is passed to a new owner, the release stated.
If a license is purchased after Jan. 31, only the oneyear license will be available; and the cost will increase to $40 per tag.
The fee for a kennel license is $100. If purchased after Jan. 31, the fee will increase to $200. The kennel licenses can only be purchased from the Lake County Auditor’s Office and at the Lake County Dog Shelter, the release stated.
Also, renewal applications have been mailed.
