Mary Alice “Dee” Christie, Marilyn Gayle DiLiberto, Lanny Franklin Haladyna Sr.

Funeral services for Lanny Franklin Haladyna Sr., 76, of Kirtland, will be 10 a.m. Monday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. on the grounds of McMahon(located Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby. Pastor Dale Diggs will officiate.

Mr. Haladyna passed away Dec. 12, 2018, at Parma Community General Hospital in Parma.

Born Jan. 5, 1942, in Pitt Gas, Pa., he had been a resident of Lake County for the past 33 years.

Lanny was a U.S. Army veteran, active at the Kirtland Senior Center, loved playing Bocce and was a 3 time Gold Medalist in the Bocce Senior Olympics. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Mr. Haladyna retired from Lincoln Electric in 2001. Lanny was the beloved husband of 41 years to Peggy L. (nee Rankin) Haladyna; loving father of Lanny Franklin Haladyna Jr., Josh Dean (Katie) Haladyna and Sydney Cheryl; cherished grandfathe­r of Violet Blue Haladyna, Vivian Ann Haladyna and Duke Dean Haladyna; uncle of Randy, Rodney and Lisa Perkins; and great-uncle of Skyler, Brodrick and Jason Perkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mabel (nee Shumaker) Haladyna; and sister, Delilah (Dale, dec.) Perkins.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the ground of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby. Burial will be in South Kirtland Cemetery in Kirtland.
