Pavicic named to ADAMHS Board

Vicki Pavicic is the newest member of the Lake County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board.

She was appointed by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and was sworn in during the board’s regular Dec. 17 meeting, according to a news release.

The ADAMHS Board plans, monitors, and funds Lake County’s network of services for residents with a mental illness and/or substance-use disorders. Those services are delivered through a network of providers, the release stated.

Board members are all Lake County residents who serve without compensation.

Pavicic is a Painesville Township resident and a graduate of Malone University. She previously served as executive director at a consumer-operated service agency in Stark County, has been a consultant to several northeast Ohio mental health agencies, and has helped develop educational programming at a local consumer empowerment agency, the release stated.

Government offices closed for holidays

Most federal, state and local government offices will be closed on Dec. 25 for Christmas and Jan. 1 for the New Year’s Day holiday. Also, some local governments will be closed on Dec. 24, including Euclid Municipal Center.

It is recommended that citizens planning on going to a government office on any of those days should call ahead to ensure it is open.

Church hosts Christmas dinner

Willoughby United Methodist Church is inviting the community to share in a free Christmas Day dinner.

Doors open at 11 a.m., Dec. 25, and dinner is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. No reservations are needed.
