Police ask for help finding woman reported missing

- Staff report

The U.S. Marshalls Service and Mentor Police ask for information to help find a missing woman.

The U.S. Marshals Service and the Mentor Police Department are seeking the public’s help to find a woman reported missing.

The agencies are looking for 31-year-old Samantha Cook. According to the U.S. Marshals, she was charged in January, 2017, with possessing a small amount of drugs after a stop by the Ohio Highway Patrol and failed to appear in court. Then, in November 2017, Cook was reported missing by her family in Mentor.

At the time she went missing Cook did not have a permanent address, but was staying in the Barberton and Akron areas, the U.S. Marshals Service stated in a news release. Cook was known to frequent locations in Wadsworth, Rittman, and Canton. At this point, however, she could be anywhere, the agency stated.

“Extensive investigation by the Mentor Police and U.S. Marshals so far has been unable to locate anyone who has seen Cook, or has had any contact with her, since 2017,” the U.S. Marshals stated in the news release.

Cook is described as a white female with red hair and blue eyes, standing 5-feet-5-inches tall and weighing 150 pounds.

“Although Ms. Cook does have a minor warrant, the most important concern now is for her safety and wellbeing,” the U.S. Marshals stated in the release. “Hopefully, if Ms. Cook sees this report herself, she will be encouraged to reach out to law enforcement or her family so that someone knows she is safe.”

Anyone with information regarding Samantha Cook is asked to contact the U.S. Marshals at 1-866-4Wanted, or Text keyword WANTED and tip to TIP411 (847411).

Tipsters can remain anonymous. Reward money is available.
