EAA chapter plans club meetings

Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 5 will host their first IMC/VMC meeting of 2019 at 7 p.m., Jan. 24, at Geauga County Airport.

A social will take place at 6:30 p.m. before the meeting program, and attendees are invited to stay after the meeting for some “hanger flying” at 8 p.m., according to a news release.

Each meeting will combine the best of both IMC and VMC Club so there is something for both instrument and non-instrument pilots, the release stated.

All are encouraged to come regardless of experience.

Meetings will alternate between an emphasis on IMC and VMC scenarios. The January meeting program will focus more on VMC, but there will be something for instrument-rated pilots as well.

Meetings for 2019 will be: Jan. 24, Feb. 28, March 28, April 25, June 27, Aug. 22 and Oct. 24. All meetings will be held in the EAA Chapter 5 hangar at Geauga County Airport, 15421 Old State Road in Middlefield.
