Snowshoes feartured in youth program

Children in third through sixth grades can learn how to use snowshoes during a special program at 2 p.m., Feb. 18, at Mentor Public Library’s Lake Branch, 5642 Andrews Road in Mentor-on-the-Lake.

Experts from Lake Metroparks will lead the program and provide the snowshoes, according to a news release.

The program is free but registration is required. Families can sign up online at www.mentorpl.org or call the Lake Branch at 440-2572512.

Participants should dress to be outside, which includes wearing boots. Also, the program will be cancelled if there isn’t at least four inches of snow on the ground, the release stated.
