Scholarships available
• The Burton Middlefield Rotary Club of Geauga County is offering four $2,000 scholarships to one graduating high school senior from each Newbury, Berkshire, Cardinal and Auburn Career Center schools. The senior selected from each school can be planning to go to college, a trade or a technical school.
Rotary is the largest humanitarian service organization in the world. Its motto is “Service Above Self”. The purpose of the scholarship awards is to assist those students who share the same value of service that all Rotarians share.
Deadline for submitting an application is April 19, 2019. To obtain an application, interested students may get one from their Guidance Counselor at their high school or request an application by emailing jimcroup@gmail.com.
• The Lake County Gamma Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is pleased to announce the availability of two $1,500 scholarships to assist with college costs for qualified future female educators. Each scholarship award is comprised of The Mary B. Cole Memorial Scholarship, valued at $1,250, and the DKG-Gamma Iota Chapter Grant-inAid, valued at $250.
Delta Kappa Gamma Society International promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. The Lake County chapter supports this mission by offering these scholarships to female college students who meet the following criteria:
- Are currently registered as a college sophomore or junior.
- Are enrolled in and excels in a college Teacher Education Program.
- Have home residences located in the Ohio cities of Mentor, Eastlake, Kirtland, Timberlake, Wickliffe, Willoughby, Willoughby Hills, or Willowick.
Applications may be requested by email to dkgscholarship@gmail.com. Questions may also be sent to that email address. Deadline for applying is March 23, 2019. All applicants will be notified of the committee selection by March 31, 2019.
