Cam Atkinson and Artemi Panarin scored in a shootout and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped both New Jersey attempts to lead the Blue Jackets to a 2-1 win over the Devils.

Atkinson also scored the Columbus goal in regulation. Bobrovsky had 29 saves as the Blue Jackets beat the Devils for the seventh straight time, including all four this season.

HEATH SENDS U.S. PAST BRAZIL » Tobin Heath scored in the first half and the United States finished the SheBelieves Cup with a 1-0 victory over Brazil.

It was the final game of the four-team, roundrobin tournament played in three cities. England defeated Japan, 3-0, in the early game at Raymond James Stadium to win the SheBelieves Cup title.

ROYALS CATCHER TO HAVE SEASON-ENDING SURGERY » Royals catcher Salvador Perez will undergo Tommy John surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right elbow, keeping the six-time AllStar off the field for the entire 2019 season.

The decision was made after Perez received a second opinion Tuesday from Dr. Neal ElAttrache, the Dodgers’ team physician. Perez hurt the elbow during a workout last week and said over the weekend that he was harboring a slim hope that he might be able to play through it.

GIANTS’ MAYBIN ARRESTED ON DUI SUSPICION » Giants outfielder Cameron Maybin was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Arizona.

Police confirmed the 31-year-old was stopped last week in Scottsdale, which is the team’s home during spring training.

According to a police report, Maybin was detained around 2:30 a.m. March 1. An officer described him as smelling of alcohol and having bloodshot eyes. Maybin told officers he had consumed five glasses of wine earlier at a restaurant.

He was subsequently placed under arrest and taken to jail, where police drew a blood sample.

He was cited and released two hours later.

In a statement, the team said it was monitoring the situation but had no further comment.
