For the record: The Patriots are back in the regional tournament for the third time in four years, and they face a familiar opponent in Buckeye Central. Central defeated Cornerstone, 5753, in last year’s regional tournament in Massillon. ... Cornerstone is coming off an eight-point win over Andrews Osborne in the Orwell District final, a game in which Madison Cloonan (16), Riley Stopp (13) and Lauren Harris (13) all hit double figures. However, both Kailey Tyna and 3-point specialist Alex Rosson are also scoring threats that Buckeye Central will have to contend with. The status of junior Michaela Cloonan (knee) remains up in the air, as she has missed six straight games . ... Buckeye Central has won six in a row since dropping its second game of the season to 20-3 Seneca East.
