Library to join CLEVNET
Mentor Public Library announced it will be joining CLEVNET this spring.
It will join the consortium -– which includes 45 library systems, including every public library in Lake County -– on May 6, according to a news release.
Then, Mentor Library patrons will be able borrow and return items from all CLEVNET systems using their MPL card.
Mentor Library patrons will not need a new card after the CLEVNET conversion. Also, they will maintain access to all of the library’s digital services like Hoopla, OverDrive, Freegal and Kanopy, as well as My Library Rewards, as long as they choose to make Mentor Library their “home library,” the release stated
As part of the conversion, Mentor Library patrons will lose access to the library consortiums SearchOhio and OhioLINK on March 17. However, they will be able to pick up and borrow anything they order via SearchOhio and OhioLINK before then, the release stated.
Patrons can maintain access to SearchOhio and OhioLINK by getting a card from either Lakeland Community College or Lake Erie College academic libraries. Ohio residents do not need to be students at either college to get a library card there, according to the release.
