TripleA Columbus fell 3-1 to the Indianapol­is Indians (26-18) May 24. The Indians scored first in the third. Bobby Bradley (1-for-4) tied it in the fourth with a home run. The game was scoreless until a two-run eighth inning for Indianapol­is that came from a two-run double hit by Kevin Kramer for the win. Brandon Barnes (2-for-4) led the offense in hits. Michael Peoples started the game but Josh D. Smith (5-1) was handed the loss, his first of the season.

A win’s a win. Double-A Akron played 13 innings against the Richmond Flying Squirrels (15-28) and won, 2-1. Ernie Clement (2-for-4) brought in the winning run with a single to score Tyler Kreiger. Despite the long game, the hits were low with five for Akron and seven for the Squirrels. Argenis Angulo pitched the last three innings and earned the win. He gave up no hits or runs, walked three and struck out seven. Richmond scored first in the fourth and the Ducks countered with a tally in the fifth and it was tied until the 13th when Clement ended it with a single.

Advanced single-A Lynchburg defeated the Fayettevil­le Woodpecker­s (21-27) 5-4. The woodpecker­s jumped to an early 3-1 lead before the Hillcats scored three in the bottom of the fifth for a 4-3 lead. Fayettevil­le answered in the ninth with one and so did the Hillcats for the win. Wilbis Santiago (2-for-4) hit a triple in the contest. Gabriel Mejia went 3-for-4. Dakody Clemmer got the win and save pitching the last inning. He gave up two hits, one run, walked none and struck out one.
