Nature Arts Festival Sunday, August 4, 10 AM-5 PM Big Creek Park
Don’t miss this day of fine Nature-inspired arts on display and for sale by regional artists with activities for the whole family to enjoy! Media include woodcarvings, paintings, photography, handcrafted jewelry and more at various price points. Activities for the whole family include live music, family make-n-take projects, entertainment, chalk art, Nature Writing Contest winner readings, food trucks and much more! Park at Chardon Arts Festival on Chardon Square and take a FREE 5-minute Lolly the Trolley ride to Big Creek Park. Movie Night “First Man” Saturday, August 10, 8-11:30 PM Observatory Park
Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the lunar landing with this film! Pre-show activities begin at 8 PM and include the Geauga County Public Library’s Fun Bus. Free popcorn and lemonade, plus free ice cream treats while they last! Bring your own blankets and lawn chairs. Movie will be shown indoors if inclement weather. Weather permitting, night sky viewing after the movie. Please note: this movie is rated PG-13 for some thematic content involving peril, and brief strong language. Meteors & Moths Overnight Event Monday, August 12, 9 PM - Tuesday, August 13, 6AM Observatory Park Bring a tent and spend the night enjoying the Perseid Meteor Shower and the night-flying moths attracted by our black light and mercury vapor lamps! Best meteor viewing 1-3 AM. Naturalist on site from sunset to sunrise. Whatever the weather, interact with moths and other nocturnal insects as you help sample and survey onsite wildlife. Camping guidelines: Tents may be set up after 4 PM. No campers, trailers or generators allowed. Must remove tents by 9 AM Tuesday. Wheelchair/ stroller accessible. Nature’s Not to Be Missed. West Woods Wednesdays Farm Market Wednesday, August 14, 4-7 PM The West Woods Purchase locally made/grown items at The West Woods the second Wednesday of each month this summer, July through September!
