Q: I want to have plastic surgery, but I am concerned what people will say. Any advice? A: Having plastic surgery is a personal decision one should only make after considering many factors. I recommend that you consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon to help you understand your option and the process, and to help you make an informed decision. While the opinions of others may be a factor, after performing surgical procedures on hundreds of patients, and non-surgical procedures on thousands more – your biggest consideration should be what is right for you. You are the only one who lives daily with your physical appearance, and is impacted by your emotional levels of confidence and happiness every day. Although I have had consultations when some people decide not to have plastic surgery, most feel good about doing it. Afterwards, almost all of them tell me how pleased they are, and how they regret waiting. For some, their confidence increased. Others simply felt better about themselves. They knew they would never look like a fashion model, but they wanted to be the best that they could be, and they knew they could be happier by making some cosmetic changes. A recent study shows that 88% of plastic surgery patients had realistic expectations. They knew that the procedure wouldn’t solve all their problems or make them a new person. But the most common attributes were boosts of happiness and confidence, feeling healthier, being less anxious, developing more selfesteem, and feeling more attractive. Please give my office a call and I will help you decide what is right for you.
