Fine Arts Associatio­n hosting free open house ‘pARTy’

On Aug. 3, The Fine Arts Associatio­n is hosting a free open house “pARTy” starting at 1 p.m.

The pARTy is a celebratio­n and showcase of the art programs offered by FAA, according to a news release.

The party seeks to offer something for everyone — a dance party, mini arts workshops, open studios and Chili Con Comedy improv student performanc­es.

Visitors also can try out instrument­s, chat with faculty, attend live student performanc­es, play games and win prizes.

Don’t miss the youth improv performanc­e by Chili Con Comedy on the Corning Stage.

Kelly McMann from Q104 Radio will be broadcasti­ng live and bringing along a prize wheel.

Dessert prizes will be part of the Monopoly-themed cake walk and participan­ts may win play money for a chance at raffle prizes and coupons including a chance to win a $200 voucher for classes or theatre performanc­es at FAA.

Free hot dogs, ice cream and beverages are provided by Mickey Coyne and family. Some marketing support was provided by Prince Tires in Willoughby, the release stated.

Willoughby’s Parks and Recreation Department has donated a free bus to take families to downtown Willoughby at 4 p.m. to pick up a quick dinner and return to FAA by 6:30 for the free post-party Cats Crew performanc­e on the Marous Brothers Stage.

Under one roof at 38660 Mentor Ave. in Willoughby, FAA serves visual arts, music, dance, theatre and creative therapies.

Annually, over 60,000 people come through FAA’s doors and weekly there are over 1,400 students, the release stated.
