• Clippers (63-48):
Newly acquired Logan Allen from the Trevor Bauer trade started on the bump for TripleA Columbus in its win against the Indianapolis Indians, 8-6, on Aug. 3 in Indianapolis. Allen didn’t receive the win. He threw 2 1⁄3 innings, gave up four hits, three runs, walked two and struck out a trio. Andrew Velazquez and Ka’ai Tom tripled. They went 1-for-4 with a run and two RBI. Jake Bauers went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Bobby Bradley went 3-for-5 with two runs and a double. Yu Chang and Mark Mathias also doubled. Chang went 1-for-5 with two runs and Mathias went 1-for-3 with on run and two RBI.
• RubberDucks (50-62):
In his first trip back to the mound at Canal Park Eli Morgan came away with the 3-0 victory against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (57-53). Morgan improved to 6-2. He pitched six innings, surrendered four hits, one walk and six strikeouts. Connor Marabell went (2-for-4) with a double and two RBI. Nolan Jones went 1-for-3 with two runs.
• Hillcats (50-58):
Advanced Single-A Lynchburg suffered a road loss to the Salem Red Sox, 9-4. Will Benson hit a double, scored once and went 2-for-4. Jonathan Laureano had the most success at the plate going 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI. Steven Kwan, Wilbis Santiago and Cody Farhat went 2-for-4. Kwan and Farhat both scored a run.
• Scrappers (22-26):
Host Staten Island’s Josh Smith singled in the gamewinning run in the 10th inning, leading to a 5-4 victory over short-season Single-A Mahoning Valley’s game. Catcher Bryan Lavastida had three hits, including a double and an RBI single for the Scrappers.
