Aug. 7 was the filing deadline for candidates and issues to appear on the Nov. 5 general election ballot.

The following is the list of candidates and issues that were filed in Lake County by the 4 p.m. deadline. Please note this is not the finalized list. Elections board officials will certify filings in the coming weeks.

Also note that there will be an election for the Painesvill­e Municipal Court Judge position. Current judge Michael Cicconetti is expected to retire Sept. 20. Candidate seeking to fill the remainder of the term ending Dec. 31, 2023 with have 10 days after the effective date of Cicconetti’s retirement to file petitions.

This list excludes liquor option questions with the exception of one regarding the Mentor civic amphitheat­er that involves the entire city.
