The fourth annual event will bring local favorites to Willoughby via food trucks on Sept. 15.

Willoughby is set to host its fourth Food Truck Sunday on Sept. 15, inviting the community to enjoy a variety of Northeast Ohio food trucks and entertainment.

The event will take place in the area of Wes Point Park, at 38198 Euclid Ave., from 1 to 5 p.m. and will feature a live band and several food trucks with different offerings.

Judean Banker, Willoughby’s parks and recreation director, organized the event.

She expects about eight or nine food trucks to attend, which currently include restaurants local to Northeast Ohio and Willoughby.

“The goal when Food Truck Sunday started was to have a fun, family event for our community,” Banker said in an email exchange. “Food trucks were just starting to become popular and we wanted to experience them and not hurt the restaurant business. That’s why we picked a Sunday, because most restaurants were closed when the event first started.”

Currently, the food trucks set for the event include: • Swensons Drive-In

• A Slice of Pizzazz (Pizza and Italian)

• Slyman’s Tavern

• Dang Good Foods (Singaporean and more)

• Donut Lab

• Pulp Juice and Smoothie Bar

• East Coast Custard Swamp Boogie Band, a Cleveland multiple-genre band, is scheduled to perform in the Wes Point Park gazebo during the day.

Banker said that Food Truck Sunday has been a success in the past.

“The event is a blast,” she said. “Approximately 1,000 people show up during the time frame to enjoy a band playing in the gazebo... and eat great food.”

Sponsors for the live band this year include Commonwealth Lumber and Marous Brothers Construction.

The event is being hosted by the City of Willoughby.
