The Browns released starting left tackle Greg Robinson, but a source says the team will re-sign him soon.

The Browns announced three waiver claims Sept. 1 and made another roster move that was not announced.

In the move that wasn’t announced, the Browns released starting left tackle Greg Robinson. But a source close to the No. 2 overall pick by the Rams in the 2014 draft said the Browns will re-sign him before they meet the Titans in the season opener Sept. 8 at FirstEnergy Stadium.

In other moves, the Browns were awarded linebacker Malik Jefferson from the Bengals, tight end Rick Seals-Jones from the Cardinals and wide receiver Khadarel Hodge from the Rams on waivers. In corresponding moves, the Browns waived defensive tackle Trevon Coley and safety Juston Burris. The played rookie offensive lineman Drew Forbes on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Robinson was originally signed by the Browns in June 2018. He was a backup behind Desmond Harrison to start the season but replaced Harrison with eight games to play. He was part of an offensive line that allowed only five sacks in the last half of the season.

Robinson signed a oneyear contract for $7 million in the offseason. The

Browns might sign him for a longer period at a reduced rate in 2019 when they re-sign him.

Jefferson, 6-foot-2, 240 pounds, was a third-round pick by the Bengals in 2018. He made three tackles last season.

Seals-Jones made the Cardinals team as an undrafted rookie in 2017. He played in 25 career games with six starts for Arizona and has 46 receptions for 544 yards and four touchdowns over the last two seasons. He played in 15 games last

season with five starts, 34 receptions and 343 receiving yards. He scored one touchdown.

Hodge was an undrafted rookie with the Rams last season. He played in 14 games, mostly on special teams.

Coley started 29 of 31 games for the Browns the past two seasons. He totaled 80 tackles. He became expendable when the Browns signed Sheldon Richardson.

Burris made two special teams tackles last season.

In other news, the

Browns announced they signed defensive tackle Brandin Bryant, tight end Stephen Carlson, wide receiver Shelton Gibson, linebacker Willie Harvey, safety J.T. Hassell, CB Robert Jackson, wide receiver Derrick Willies and center Willie Wright to their practice squad. Additionally, defensive back Tigie Sankoh will be a member of the team’s international practice squad and won’t count towards the team’s allotted 10 practice squad slots.
