For the record: Kirtland has won eight in a row since a January loss to Independence, including a 51-22 win over Berkshire for a sectional title. Amber Yurick scored 16and Reilly Greenlee 11 in that win over the Badgers. Guards Lauren Snyder and Julia Camino are the leading scorers for the season, though. ... Garrettsville has won six in a row since a regular-season loss to Rootstown. Junior guard Grace Mills averages 17.3points, 7.2rebounds, 4.3assists and 3.2steals. For the record: Brookfield has been the bracket-buster so far, knocking off sixth-seeded Fairport and third-seeded AOA to get to the district tournament. The party ends here. Cornerstone is the defending district champ and is coming off a 91-27win over St. John. ... Brookfield got good balance in the win over AOA, getting 24 from Audrey Reardon, 13 from Sophie Hook and 12from Kenzie Jumper 12. The defensive pressure and offensive athleticism Cornerstone brings in the form of Madison Cloonan, Michaela Cloonan, Kailey Tyna and Riley Stopp - all of whom average in double figures - is something no one else in the Orwell field has seen this season.
