(1) NORTH VS. (3) BRUSH What: Division I district championship When: 7 p.m., Feb. 28 Where: Perry Records: North 20-3, Brush 16-7 On deck: Winner advances to a regional semifinal game at Canton Memorial Civic Center to play the winner of Magnificat and Solon at 6:15 p.m. on March 3

For the record: The Rangers won both regular-season meetings, 66-65, on Dec. 4and then a 56-39 blowout on Jan. 22. The Rangers have experience on their side as the defending district champion, a team that was the D-I regional runner-up in Canton last season. Brush is young, a team with only one senior (Dalayah Johnson) and a team many feel will be the district favorite for maybe the next two seasons . ... Brush beat Euclid, 61-56, in the district semifinal round. Johnson had 20, with Zenniah Thomas scoring 14. The Arcs have a size advantage in the paint with Thomas, Asia Nicholson and Donee Frazier all 5-11 or taller . ... North beat Mentor, 66-48 in a district semifinal. Destiny Leo had 21, but the big game belonged to Avril Drew (22). Abby Carter is also a threat to score big. ... Brush shot miserably in the last meeting with North and wasn’t able to defend Leo very well. The Arcs’ key is to shoot better than last time and try to find a way to slow down Leo — easier said than done. For North, overcoming the size disadvantage is a big key. And if/when Brush collapses on Leo, others have to step up and make their shots.
