Furman University
Hanna Gemmell of Painesville, has earned a place on Furman University’s dean’s list for the 2019 fall semester.
Furman’s dean’s list is composed of full-time undergraduate students who earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher on a four-point system. Gemmell’s parents are Rebecca Gemmell and Bruce Gemmell.
University of Minnesota Twin Cities
Eamon J. Bracken of Mentor has been named to the 2019 fall semester Dean’s List at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, the university announced.
Bracken is a freshman College of Liberal Arts major.
To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must complete 12 or more letter-graded credits while attaining a 3.66 grade point average.
The Citadel
Gold stars were awarded to cadets and students at The Citadel who achieved a 3.7 grade point average or higher in the fall 2019 semester. Cadets and students who achieve gold star recognition are also placed on The Citadel’s dean’s list.
The nearly 600 cadets and students awarded gold stars include: Brody Austin of Euclid Skyler Rossbach of Chester.
Association of International Students

Ashland University
The following students are members of the AU Dance Company at Ashland University.
Kailyn Clarke of Mentor, is a member the Dance Company. Clarke is majoring in history. Clarke is a 2017 graduate of Mentor High School.
Tyler Easton of Orwell, is a member of the Dance Company. Easton is majoring in Spanish. He is the son of Todd and Heather Easton of Orwell. Easton is a 2018 graduate of Grand Valley High School.
Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi
Jennifer Soros of Highland Heights was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Soros was initiated at Nova Southeastern University.
Soros is among approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate
students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.
Ashland University
The following students are members of the astronomy club at Ashland University.
Andreas Cook of Burton, is a member of the astronomy club. Cook is majoring in English.
Paige Kuchta of Madison is a member of the astronomy club. She is the daughter of Holly Kuchta. Kuchta is a 2019 graduate of Madison High School.
Rycki Sheehan of Mayfield Heights, is a member of the astronomy club. Sheehan is majoring in psychology. Sheehan is a 2016 graduate of Parma Community High School.
Johnathan Stevenson of Mentor, is a member of the astronomy club. Stevenson is majoring in forensic biology. He is the son of Sarah Stevenson. Stevenson is a 2018 graduate of Mentor High School.

Undergraduate students are eligible for Dean’s List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of “Incomplete”, “D” or “F”; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.
