Mother’s Day is a special day even when the kids are grown and gone and Mother has passed on. I’ll be observing it with a Coddled Egg breakfast on May 10. I first ate Coddled Eggs with Cream in Paris and will eat them there again when travel restrictions have eased. Some parts of France add fresh tarragon to the recipe or toss in a handful of chopped mushrooms.

May 7 is the deadline for a pair of other delightful-sounding Mother’s Day meals.

Although ordering deadlines have passed for two others you may find an exception can be made if you ask. See earlier story at bit. ly/2WrCkYt.

The Rustic Grill at StoneWater has a carry out menu along with a Breakfast in Bed Kit ($30) for pickup on May 9.

Full instructions for reheating are included but it’s not even necessary for the breakfast which is fully cooked and framed around an asparagus frittata.

It also includes a mini bottle of prosecco, orange juice and a pair of chocolate covered strawberries. Carryout options include a Breakfast Sausage Casserole; Blueberry Baked French Toast Casserole; Frittata with Asparagus, Mushroom, Tomato and Swiss; and, Cheesy Potato Hash Casserole.
