The Fine Arts Association to hold all classes, camps, lessons remotely
Things are changing for The Fine Arts Association this summer.
The arts school has traditionally held summer camps, classes and private lessons on its grounds in Willoughby, but in the wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic, all programming will take place remotely throughout the season.
The recent decision was made to remain dedicated to fighting the spread of the infection, in addition to keeping students, faculty and staff healthy, school officials confirmed.
“We’re committed to doing everything we can to continue to facilitate growth through the fine arts, especially at this

tumultuous time,” said Director of Education Michael Lund Ziegler. “For the past many weeks, our incredible faculty has been devising remarkable plans to deliver interactive, art-filled experiences this summer.”
According to Fine Arts, remote programming will feature multiple forms of collaborative development. Learning from home will include:
• Art supplies in a box picked up at Fine Arts (38660 Mentor Ave.) or delivered
• Interactive classes in dance and theater facilitated via video conferencing software
• Culminating camp performances done via Zoom or on stage to an empty theater
• Live one-on-one video music lessons
• HIPAA-compliant virtual platform for art and music therapy services
Fine Arts officials expressed appreciation to several foundations for continued support to keep arts therapy programs going during the COVID-19 emergency, including
Paintstone Foundation; the Western Reserve Junior Service League; the Lake-Geauga Rapid Response Fund (The Cleveland Foundation); and the Feel-Good Foundation.
“Thanks to their generosity, FAA can continue critical mental health services and deploy resources to address the urgent mental health needs of FAA’s music and art therapy clients,” Ziegler said.
Summer 2020 registrations are open now.
