Two Local Companies Come Together in the Spirit of Art, Food and Helping Others

-

Busy Bees Pottery & Arts Studio and Moe’s Southwest Grill, both locally owned companies in Mentor whose businesses have each been affected by COVID-19 are teaming up to provide food for those on our frontlines assisting with COVID-19. Focusing on what they each do best, they have come up with a “Paint for a Cause” & Donate Fun Food fundraiser.

Beth Brinton, owner of Busy Bees is known for her creative talents and willingness to help others. She has designed a canvas paint project which portrays the world as we know it today. Named “Healing Earth,” the canvas design is an image of the world in its strong blue and green colors protected by a white pristine mask donning a red bold heart. The design speaks to love and compassion, protecting and healing.

For each “Healing Earth” canvas kit purchased, Busy Bees will donate the proceeds to purchase food from Moe’s Southwest Grill who will sweeten the order with dessert and will make the delivery. There will be a few recipients, but the initial delivery will be to the Lake County Free Clinic. “With the Free Clinic serving uninsured and underinsured residents without charge, their case load during these trying times has increased to even include telehealth visits. What better way to show our appreciation than to treat them to a meal,” states Ryan O’Hare, owner of Moe’s Southwest Grill.

Each kit will come with all of the materials needed including an outline of the picture, canvas, brushes, paints and instructions to create at home. As a thank you for your fundraiser participation, a $5 Moe Bucks certificate will be included with each canvas kit. Purchases can be made online at https://mentor.busybeesart.com/ product/healing-earth/ through June 10th and orders can be picked up at Busy Bees curbside or in the studio located in the Great Lakes Mall (7850 Mentor Avenue / Mentor).

“Our hearts and minds have been with those on the frontlines and will continue to be,” states Beth Brinton. We are pleased to partner with Ryan and Moe’s to help our local frontline heroes while offering our ever-supportive community the opportunity to explore creativity through painting.”
