Fairmount unveils programs
Summer arts events are offered online — and free of charge
Fairmount Center for the Arts, a non-profit community center for the arts, has announced its summer programs.
With support from the Figgie Foundation, Fairmount’s All Access Summer of Arts is providing free online classes in all the arts — dance, music, theatre, visual arts and fitness — for all ages, according to a news release.
Classes include ballet, jazz, hip hop, painting and drawing, theater, yoga, group ukulele, Zumba and more. Classes begin the week of June 15 and will continue for six weeks.
Though classes are free of charge, participants do need to register.
Additionally, Fairmount has created Camp Kits to provide camp fun via art kits and interactive online sessions, the release stated. Camp experiences with kits will be offered for ages 3 to 15 years.
Camps are thematic and include such themes as “Recyclemania,” the “Big Build,” and “Nature Arts.”
Finally, Fairmount’s ArtsyoU program is offering online private music instruction and other one-onone customized arts experiences, the release stated. Music instruction is available for most instruments including piano, violin, guitar, flute, ukulele and voice.
The ArtsyoU program is also connecting professional artists with learners who are located anywhere in the world.
Participants can dance with a professional ballerina in their living room, learn the art of photography, or paint a picture under the guidance of an award-winning artist.
Fairmount is based in Russell Township and has provided a space for individual expression and the opportunity for all to explore the arts through classes, workshops, community performances and cultural programs.
