Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library announces expanded hours for patrons
The Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library has announce the expansion of patron service hours at its Eastlake, Willoughby, Willoughby Hills and Willowick public libraries.
The libraries reopened for patron service on a limited basis on June 8 and have seen a consistent flow of patrons returning to the four libraries, with library staff and patrons following the public health guidelines, according to a news release.
“We are grateful to our patrons for their cooperation in following the responsible safety measures that we have in place,” Eric Linderman, the W-E Library’s deputy director and coordinator of the reopening strategy, said in the release.
The increased hours, which began June 22, are as follows:
• Mondays through Thursdays — Eastlake, Willoughby, Willowick: 10 to 11 a.m. for senior citizens and vulnerable populations and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the general population. Willoughby Hills: 11 a.m. to noon for senior citizens and vulnerable populations and noon to 8 p.m. for the general population.
• Fridays and Saturdays — Eastlake, Willoughby, Willowick: 10 to 11 a.m. for senior citizens and vulnerable populations and 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. for general population. Willoughby Hills: 11 a.m. to noon for senior citizens and vulnerable populations and noon to 4:45 p.m. for general population.
Each Library will limit the numbers of patrons allowed in at any one time based on the size and staffing of the building.
At the 40-minute mark of each hour, patrons will exit the building in order to allow staff to clean high-touch areas in advance of the next hour’s patrons, the release stated. Patrons will be able to browse materials and use the available public computers on a “first-come, firstserved” basis.
The library is strongly recommending that all patrons wear face masks as library staff do.
Curbside service will still be available at each library. Visit we247.org for more information as well as access to digital and virtual resources.
